Was granted 8 to 5 status as of yesterday till my organ exam. For the uninitiated, that means that i can book out everyday, while others will have to remain in camp, and make do with the spec mess, and SHE and Jolin (the nicknames of the ladies in my camp). My dad has even lend my his wheels for this month and thus i am now the envy of my unit, espically Peng Koon, where this feeling has transformed into jealousness, angriness and condemness (if there's such a word).

But am i really enjoying good life? I have to wake up at 6 everyday, and everyday when i reach home tired, it's already 7. Out of the four songs that are required for the exam, I still have difficultly playing one, and my technical work is still not up to the mark, and it's only one month more to the exam. The feeling's just like when the 'A' levels is only one month away, and you have not started on your physics revision. So am i really enjoying good life? If good life is defined as pushing one's tired body to practise after a long day, while others are slacking, then yes, i am enjoying good life...

I had the honour of doing guard duty on a weekend again, this time on a saturday with Eric. Luckily, there was no turn-out. We even managed to skip the staff-parade as we were prowling then. OC was also on duty yeaterday, and bought KFC for all of us. Was quite suprised with this gesture, but who cares, the food came at the right time and i finished a chicken wing in a record time of 2 minutes. Maybe i will be more "garang" in the next exercise, depending on my mood...

Was having lunch with Eric at the cookhouse when i noticed these two new "rovers" of the SAF. Ssangyong Rexton, to be exact. For those interested in it's specs, it can be found at http://www.ssangyong.com.sg/Rexton-1.htm.

Returned from Taiwan this morning, reaching home at about 2am. It's really an eventful trip. A typhoon swept through Taiwan while we were there. Although we only caught the fringe of it, the wind were still quite strong (it was classified as a stage 11 wind, according to Hong Swee). Another highlight was on the last day of the trip, when Eric, Hong Swee and me got a chance to ride a scooter on the streets of Taiwan. Yes, it's an reletively empty street, but still, it was a pretty memorable experience. Was quite suprised with the scooter's pickup. It's even faster than my Ah Kong's bike with maximum throttle. Maybe it's because of it's lightweight i guess.

Spent all of the NT6100 that i'm left with from the last commando trip, mostly on foodstuff. The cold drinks on the ninja van was really irresistible, espically in such hot weather. Too were the chicken chop and "chai tao kueh". Also bought some "mua chee", plums and sun biscuits for my parents. Bought a softtoy that scold vulgarities, together with a fila shirt for my bro. Only managed to get two shirts for myself. Actually, this is actually a good time to shop in Taiwan, as all the summer clothes are now on sale. Too bad, i didn't bring enough money with me.

The up-coming trip will be Wallaby, Australia. Then next year, there are two back-to-back Thailand trips before i ORD. 258 more days... Posted by Picasa
